O U T F I T: how to be naked in the summer (but not really)

-CNDirect Sheer Top|Missguided Bralet(similar)|Vintage Gap Shorts(similar)|Missguided Heels(similar)Forever21 Cuff(similar)Vintage Backpack(similar)-

Last post I was all about the 70's and now here I am feeling the 90's nostalgia all over again. It's fun to switch up era's sometimes because you can explore different styles and really experiment with your looks. I'm totally a chameleon when it comes to my style and if I haven't mentioned before I dress depending on my mood whether I feel like being a total hippie or a sophisticated minimalist. This look definitely was inspired by the 90's with the sheer overlay, vintage denim and chunky heels. But trying to wear the least amount of clothes during the summer can be a little difficult when you're trying to still look covered up and the sheer top still allows me to feel "naked" yet covered up at the same time.

Also, the buns are back! I haven't styled my hair in 2 buns in a really long time except this time I'm keeping my hair in its natural state and the buns are more like puffs now. I was able to successfully detangle my hair and smooth those edges with the amazing SuperCream Coconut Curl Styler from DevaCurl. For all of you curly girls, I totally recommend using this product as it's the best for all of your styling needs and great for all curl types. Whether I'm doing a wash-and-go or 2 buns, SuperCream is my go-to styling product. And the coconut scent is always an added bonus!

O U T F I T: statement trench coat

-Thrifted Jones New York Coat(similar)|Missguided Sleeveless Blazer,&Skirt|Forever 21 Turtleneck|Handbag Heaven Bag|Aldo Boots-

A way to enliven a very neutral winter look is by adding a statement coat of some sort of color. I decided to go with this amazing thrifted trench coat that I scored for five bucks (no joke). The evergreen color is the perfect contrast between the grey and whites. I am also happy that this coat is pretty versatile in terms of wearing it with multiple outfits and color palettes. In addition it has a detachable lining so that means I can wear it in the spring  too. *Excitement!*
By the way I hope all of you are having a wonderful year so far!

O U T F I T: what snow?

-Missguided Sweater|H&M Shirt(similar) and Pants(similar)|Dr. Martens Boots-

Despite the fact that it is snowing/raining I will still continue to wear a cropped sweater. I think I'm in denial that winter is coming or pretty much here. But at least Thanksgiving is tomorrow because I'm ready to have a food baby! Also sorry not sorry for the crazy photos, I was having way too much fun in my room especially since class got cancelled.

Okay bye.

O U T F I T: turtleneck + mini skirt

-H&M Turtleneck Sweater(similar)|Forever 21 Jacket|American Apparel Skirt|Aldo Boots-

It's certainly turtleneck season here in New York but that won't stop me from slipping on a mini skirt. Lately both pieces have been key items in my wardrobe. This skirt has been worn many times(but not documented) with several different sweaters. But this turtleneck has been the headliner this fall. I really want to get another turtleneck in grey or even an oversized black one. I see a wishlist in the making.

O U T F I T: night time shirt dressing

-Forever 21 Shirt dress(similar), Jacket, Hat(similar)|Aldo Boots|Coach Bag-

I was supposed to take these photos right before sundown but apparently I'm not time savvy so the night it is. Lately I have been into the whole shirt dress look as it fits into my easy-to-wear type of wardrobe. This one that I'm wearing has a a more fitted silhouette which is alright but I would've usually opted for something more oversized. Otherwise this dress is a go to for when I don't feel like putting too much thought into an outfit.

O U T F I T: denim, i love you

-Thrifted Denim Shirt(similar)|Forever 21 Jeans|Aldo Ankle Boots-

Denim is probably my favorite fabric of all fabrics because it's so versatile, classic, effortless, and comfortable. The idea of mixing different denim washes has always been a favorite look of mine. This time around I wanted to mix in white denim with light wash denim to create a cleaner look that easily translates into fall. And of course I had to top everything off with a pair of ankle boots.

To my readers: how do you wear denim?

O U T F I T: blue bell

-H&M Skirt and Necklaces|Urban Outfitters Tee(similar)|Forever 21 Jacket(similar)|Converse Sneakers-

It's not typical of me to wear something blue even though blue has always been my favorite color. However this particular skirt caught my eye unexpectedly. I think it was the fact that it was shoved between a rack of other black pieces that this very skirt seemed to jump out at me the most. I wasn't even on the hunt for a skirt. Once I grabbed it and realized it was a faux leather skirt I immediately had to try it on. Thankfully it was my size and after that it was either buying it or just constantly having it on mind (I'm sure you all know that feeling). And now of course I present to you my first fall buy.

O U T F I T: little tee dress

-H&M Dress(similar) and Necklace(similar)|American Eagle Shirt(similar)|Converse Sneakers-

When the heat hits you from all sides a tee dress is the way to go. I'm not usually a big dress person but if I ever find myself wearing one it's because it's an essential in my wardrobe. I've worn this dress several times this summer and I wish I had it in a variety of colors-generally in black or white. I love how I can wear just about any shoe with it also. Specifically for being comfy and a little sporty I opted for my high-tops. In addition I can see myself transitioning this dress for that fall weather we'll eventually get with a pair of ankle boots. Simply, I highly suggest investing in a little tee dress.
