Back to School with Redbubble

There's nothing better than starting the school year off with fresh and cool gear that fits your style, but have you thought about looking further than your local superstore? Yes, there is a wonderful world of uniquely designed notebooks, cases, pouches and more that will have your classmates feeling just a little envious. Welcome to Redbubble, a community of over 400K independent artists with the mission of bringing more art into the world. Redbubble, which was founded in Melbourne, Australia in 2007, is a marketplace that gives artists the chance to share and earn a profit from their artwork.

This golden mandala sunflower print was designed by Paviash and it is my fave because the sunflower is actually one of my favorite flowers. This notebook is perfect for jotting down ideas or even taking notes in the most stylish way.

Keeping up with the theme of all things stylish I couldn't pass up on FINALLY getting a case for my laptop. For a very long time, I didn't have a laptop case because I didn't like the generic styles that my local store offered. Luckily, I was able to find the perfect one that was designed by Redbubble member Micklyn.

Lastly, I decided to go a little matchy and get the same print on a pouch and phone case. I have already gotten compliments on my phone case. I love the design because I relate to it as I am a natural hair advocate. This design was created by artist DaCre8iveOne.

If you're looking for more stylish Back to School gear definitely check out Redbubble and take 15% off your next order with the code: neonstylefox15!

Happy 5 Years to Neon Fox

Where do you see yourself in 5 years? Ugh, I absolutely hate questions like these! But 5 years ago from today I honestly would not have thought that I would be here to celebrate 5 years of blogging. Now, I wouldn't call my blog the biggest successful blog out there but I do think that over the years there has been some positive progress. From investing a lot of my own money to taking every risk and doing whatever THE FUCK I want, blogging has made me fearless, way more confident, and probably a lot cooler if I must say.

I hope you guys that have been following my blogging journey, even though I'm the most inconsistent blogger out there, that you've appreciated my posts. Blogging has allowed me to connect and create with some of you and I am forever grateful for such amazing opportunities. There have many times where I wanted to just give up but I've kept pushing through and I'm glad that I did. Thank you all for the love and support I truly appreciate it and I can't wait for another 5 years! Cheers x

5 Coats You Need to Achieve Cozy Goals this Fall

Woah, it's been a while since my last blog post and now we are in new season. Hello, Fall, I'm so excited you are here, haha! Actually, I am more excited that I finally get to bring out all of my beloved coats and possibly buy new ones. Thankfully Lyst will help keep me feeling cozy this season with their innovative shopping technology.

I can only agree with Lyst that things are better when they're made for you, which is quite satisfying to know. At the moment I'm on the hunt for coats that will make all of my outfits look and feel cozy. I have rounded up five coat styles that I totally need to add to my fall wardrobe.

The Statement Puffer Jacket | This style of coat used to be hated by the 10-year old me mostly because...marshmallow looks. But now I could totally see myself strutting down the sidewalk like it's Fashion Week still feeling like a marshmallow in a good way. The puffer jacket is a must-have item for this season as it can totally be worn dressed up or down and it'll keep you warm too of course.

The Metallic Coat | Space bunny coming through...no but really if I lived in outer space this would be the coat I'd wear to the moon. Metallic has been spotted everywhere and I don't think anyone would mind wearing a metallic coat paired with their metallic ankle boots. This is definitely coat dressing on another level.

The Velvet Bomber | Ok so if you're not tired of seeing velvet everything...this one is for you. I didn't think I could be so obsessed with a fabric such as velvet. But I'd like to think that a velvet coat is a nice touch to pair with those massively adored slip dresses. Talk about cozy and cute.

The Suede Trench Coat | Time to upgrade to suede and make yourself feel marvelously cozy. The suede trench is a little more heavy duty yet it's so sleek while still holding that classic style. Wearing such a coat would definitely bring your entire look to a more refined and polished state.

The Faux Fur Coat | There's nothing better than feeling like you a big bear gave you a big hug...actually that almost sounds petrifying. But on the bright side there are coats like this faux fur  number that is a lot gentler than an actually grizzly. Looks like I'll be getting a head start on hibernation, haha!

Question of the day: What coat will you be wearing this fall? Let Lyst help you reach your cozy goals!

This Site is All of Your Fave Stores in One

If you know me personally I am always shopping online and sometimes I prefer online shopping for many reasons. But whenever you're shopping online do you always find yourself with a bunch of tabs open to different stores? Yea me too. Well, thanks to Octer the multiple tab struggle has been solved and you can now shop your favorite online stores in the same place.

Octer is all about making online shopping simple and easy. With well-known stores like Topshop, Nordstrom, MissSelfridges and over 8,000 brands, you can shop them all at once. Another great feature is that you can compare prices of similar styles to make sure you're getting the bang for your buck. And if you're shopping on the go -which I find very convenient- you can download the Octer app on Apple or Google Play

Lately, I've been looking for a new pair of ankle boots as I'm gearing up for the fall/winter season and Octer has made my shopping experience very seamless and easy. The new season has been calling for crushed velvet styles or the glorious accent heel. I haven't quite decided what look I want to go for this upcoming fall, but I have been shopping Topshop and Nordstrom on Octer comparing prices and searching for the best boot. Here's a collection of a few styles that may potentially have a spot in my closet.

Shop each style left to right: 1-2-3-4-5

What are you shopping for this season?

Last Days of Summer with Swissgear

This post is sponsored by SWISSGEAR, all opinions are my own.

The thought of Summer finally coming to end kind of makes me sad but also happy because hello Fall outfits! During these last days of Summer, it's all about getting that last bit of fun in before it's back to school or work even. I've already planned for a little weekend trip that'll totally be the highlight of my end of summer travels.

I'm typically very good at packing for trips but packing for a weekend is definitely the easiest kind of packing ever. All you really need is your essentials and about 2 1/5 outfits. I know that sounds weird but trust me there's a reason behind that.

Packing for a weekend should only require either a duffle/weekender bag or for me, I get to travel with my SWISSGEAR carry-on suitcase. Carry-on suitcases are generally close in size to duffle bags but this one holds just a little more due to its divided panels, it's easier to transport with eight 360 degree multi-directional spinner wheels, and my belongings are a bit more secure because of its hardshell construction. And thanks to my SWISSGEAR travel backpack which has so many padded compartments I can easily and securely carry my cameras, extremely heavy laptop, and other important items.

My main essentials always include toiletries, all of my curly hair products (yes it's a real struggle) and my makeup. I typically pack all of my essentials into separate cases or pouches just so that I don't end up panicking looking for items when they're needed or so that they don't leak out onto my clothes (that's happened before).

But why 2 1/5 outfits? Well, the 2 main outfits are for the 2 day weekend of course but the other half is for coordinating an outfit that uses pieces from one of the first 2 outfits. Make sense? Let me explain. I usually pack outfits that consist of basics and maybe one statement piece just in case. My main basic pieces are a pair of denim shorts, black jeans, a comfy tee, and a tank top of some sort which equals 2 outfits. Then I move on to the statement piece which is usually some fancy blouse to coordinate with the shorts or jeans or a printed statement skirt that can be coordinated with either my tank or tee which will equal the other half outfit. Easy right?

Now for shoes, I only bring three pairs that consist of sneakers, sandals/slip-ons, and a low heel for obvious reasons. Oh, and you can't forget a light basic cardigan because you may never know.

SWISSGEAR will definitely allow me to easily get back on track for the work week with its functional gear. My carry-on suitcase is super lightweight and minimally chic. And I love my complimenting silver backpack that can transition into a work bag so that I'm ready to start my Monday.

What's your end of summer plans? Share your story and let SWISSGEAR help you travel at ease by checking out their amazing functional travel gear!

Recipe: Sutter Home Pink Moscato Summer Poptails

This shop has been compensated by Collective Bias, Inc. and its advertiser. All opinions are mine alone. #MoscatoMoments #CollectiveBias The following content is intended for readers who are 21 or older.

Summer has become my favorite season mostly due to the fact that I get out more and experience more that I normally wouldn't in the colder seasons. This summer I got to enjoy the company of friends and family on a Brooklyn rooftop with music, conversations, and of course drinks that include my Sutter Home Pink Moscato Summer Poptails.

What's a poptail, you ask?

A poptail is essentially a cocktail in popsicle form, sounds good, right?
I used the Sutter Home Pink Moscato in the poptails because it's the perfect wine to bring people together and make them feel at home. Sutter Home has a great variety of different wines that can truly offer something for everyone.

Talk about Sutter Home bringing a variety of great tasting flavors to your summer fun!

So I'm sure you're wondering how do I get my hands on one of these delicious looking Sutter Home Pink Moscato Summer Poptails...well you're in luck because I have shared an easy recipe down below!

What Defines True Beauty?

The topic of beauty has been very questionable these days with the movements of natural hair, body positivity, makeup, and so much more, but really what defines true beauty? Of course, there are so many different opinions on that question  and all opinions are totally valid. So here are my thoughts on the definition of true beauty.

From a young age, I always knew I had some type of beautiful thing about me but there were always those reminders that made me feel ugly. Growing up was tough because I was always the last to get everything that other girls were getting (if you know what I mean). It definitely became harder to know how to appreciate myself because I never felt pretty enough or just enough in general.

Then I started to get acne and that really shut down all kinds of confidence I had left. Having to deal with acne at that time was like the end of the world because the only solution there was, was Proactiv and that shit did not work. And to top it off, I wasn't educated on how to deal with acne so I became really frustrated with myself and started to really hate life.

Fast forwarding to now, I unfortunately still suffer from acne and I have gotten better at controlling it, thankfully. But this post is about how I define true beauty. For me, true beauty means having confidence within yourself and really getting to know who you are inside and out. It's about being yourself and being happy with yourself. If you can appreciate who you are as a person then you have discovered your true beauty.

I don't think anyone can 100% know who they are or discover their true beauty but every bit counts and that's all that matters. There's no time to worry about perfection. Perfection is beyond us and it's not realistic. Strive for what makes you happy enough to get you through the day.

*sidenote: these photos were taken by me with a little filter & no skin retouching*

I'm always asked what message I want to put out into the world and my answer is always CONFIDENCE IS KEY. Having the confidence to be yourself is such a beautiful thing. People will notice your confidence and they will see that you are a beautiful person When you exude confidence it transfers to other people and that's how powerful you can be with just a little bit of confidence.

Today I have learned how to confidently be myself and not worry about being perfect or what other people think, I am confident that I have true beauty. I hope that this post can help you gain confidence and find your true beauty. Just remember, be yourself.

What do you think defines true beauty?

L I F E: NYFW SS16 Recap Part 2

Ok so here is part 2 of my NYFW recap and since there are a lot more photos I decided that it was best to put the photos in thumbnails for easier viewing.

The 2nd show that I attended was the Harbison Collection show of designer Charles Elliot Harbison.
If you guys follow or read any celebrity style blogs you will probably recognize that this is the designer that Beyonce and Solange wore the same color-blocked coats a little while back.

This collection had a very eccentric yet polished aesthetic, from the embellished knits to the mixed prints and fabrics. And the accessories added a cool touch of modern elegance.
Also a special thanks to the people over at Project Cobalt for inviting me out! #cobaltstyle

L I F E: NYFW SS16 Recap Part 1

*I know this is long overdue, but here it is*

This year I was only able to attend 2 shows due to my scheduling with school, interning, and my job (my life in a nutshell). But I am glad to say that the 2 shows that I did attend... they were actually good. The first show was Daniel Silverstain and before the show I had never heard of the designer so I wasn't sure what to expect. I mean I pretty much didn't know what kind of aesthetic he had so that kind of made it more exciting to attend.

As the show was going on, I was doing a lot of Snapchatting and video recording so I waited until the presentation to get better and closer photos. Also, I stupidly forgot my camera because I was rushing out of the house (like usual) so I used my iPhone6 to take photos.

The Daniel Silverstain show definitely made me feel excited about the spring season. I loved the metallics and the pops of primary colors. The patchwork details added character to the garments and just the entire concept was amazing. Also, can we just take a moment for the fact that the runway was SILVER!?

Part 2 of my NYFW recap is coming soon, so stay tuned!

ps: if you would like to keep up with me via Snapchat you can follow me @alicianich.
