The thought of Summer finally coming to end kind of makes me sad but also happy because hello Fall outfits! During these last days of Summer, it's all about getting that last bit of fun in before it's back to school or work even. I've already planned for a little weekend trip that'll totally be the highlight of my end of summer travels.
I'm typically very good at packing for trips but packing for a weekend is definitely the easiest kind of packing ever. All you really need is your essentials and about 2 1/5 outfits. I know that sounds weird but trust me there's a reason behind that.
Packing for a weekend should only require either a duffle/weekender bag or for me, I get to travel with my SWISSGEAR carry-on suitcase. Carry-on suitcases are generally close in size to duffle bags but this one holds just a little more due to its divided panels, it's easier to transport with eight 360 degree multi-directional spinner wheels, and my belongings are a bit more secure because of its hardshell construction. And thanks to my SWISSGEAR travel backpack which has so many padded compartments I can easily and securely carry my cameras, extremely heavy laptop, and other important items.
My main essentials always include toiletries, all of my curly hair products (yes it's a real struggle) and my makeup. I typically pack all of my essentials into separate cases or pouches just so that I don't end up panicking looking for items when they're needed or so that they don't leak out onto my clothes (that's happened before).
But why 2 1/5 outfits? Well, the 2 main outfits are for the 2 day weekend of course but the other half is for coordinating an outfit that uses pieces from one of the first 2 outfits. Make sense? Let me explain. I usually pack outfits that consist of basics and maybe one statement piece just in case. My main basic pieces are a pair of denim shorts, black jeans, a comfy tee, and a tank top of some sort which equals 2 outfits. Then I move on to the statement piece which is usually some fancy blouse to coordinate with the shorts or jeans or a printed statement skirt that can be coordinated with either my tank or tee which will equal the other half outfit. Easy right?
Now for shoes, I only bring three pairs that consist of sneakers, sandals/slip-ons, and a low heel for obvious reasons. Oh, and you can't forget a light basic cardigan because you may never know.
SWISSGEAR will definitely allow me to easily get back on track for the work week with its functional gear. My carry-on suitcase is super lightweight and minimally chic. And I love my complimenting silver backpack that can transition into a work bag so that I'm ready to start my Monday.
