Last Days of Summer with Swissgear

This post is sponsored by SWISSGEAR, all opinions are my own.

The thought of Summer finally coming to end kind of makes me sad but also happy because hello Fall outfits! During these last days of Summer, it's all about getting that last bit of fun in before it's back to school or work even. I've already planned for a little weekend trip that'll totally be the highlight of my end of summer travels.

I'm typically very good at packing for trips but packing for a weekend is definitely the easiest kind of packing ever. All you really need is your essentials and about 2 1/5 outfits. I know that sounds weird but trust me there's a reason behind that.

Packing for a weekend should only require either a duffle/weekender bag or for me, I get to travel with my SWISSGEAR carry-on suitcase. Carry-on suitcases are generally close in size to duffle bags but this one holds just a little more due to its divided panels, it's easier to transport with eight 360 degree multi-directional spinner wheels, and my belongings are a bit more secure because of its hardshell construction. And thanks to my SWISSGEAR travel backpack which has so many padded compartments I can easily and securely carry my cameras, extremely heavy laptop, and other important items.

My main essentials always include toiletries, all of my curly hair products (yes it's a real struggle) and my makeup. I typically pack all of my essentials into separate cases or pouches just so that I don't end up panicking looking for items when they're needed or so that they don't leak out onto my clothes (that's happened before).

But why 2 1/5 outfits? Well, the 2 main outfits are for the 2 day weekend of course but the other half is for coordinating an outfit that uses pieces from one of the first 2 outfits. Make sense? Let me explain. I usually pack outfits that consist of basics and maybe one statement piece just in case. My main basic pieces are a pair of denim shorts, black jeans, a comfy tee, and a tank top of some sort which equals 2 outfits. Then I move on to the statement piece which is usually some fancy blouse to coordinate with the shorts or jeans or a printed statement skirt that can be coordinated with either my tank or tee which will equal the other half outfit. Easy right?

Now for shoes, I only bring three pairs that consist of sneakers, sandals/slip-ons, and a low heel for obvious reasons. Oh, and you can't forget a light basic cardigan because you may never know.

SWISSGEAR will definitely allow me to easily get back on track for the work week with its functional gear. My carry-on suitcase is super lightweight and minimally chic. And I love my complimenting silver backpack that can transition into a work bag so that I'm ready to start my Monday.

What's your end of summer plans? Share your story and let SWISSGEAR help you travel at ease by checking out their amazing functional travel gear!

B E A U T Y: Introducing The Wink by Clinique

Welcoming Clinique's newest site The Wink! A space of the best inspiration to feel beautiful, be empowered and finding your true confident self. The Wink is not just another beauty site it's also about discovering amazing people, places, and products. It's about having a beautiful lifestyle. You can find inspiration just about anywhere, but your true beauty lies within yourself and Clinique's The Wink will inspire you to discover what that really means.

With such an easy navigable site The Wink covers topics from DIY and crafts (my favorite), beauty how-to's, and a super organized Index that is a glossary highlighting the beauty terms, ingredients, beauty trends and more that are part of the Clinique culture.

Thanks to The Wink I learned that inner beauty comes in disguises...like nutritious popsicles. After reading the Pretty Easy: Beauty Boosting Ice Pops article I discovered that there is always a solution to every problem like not having time to make smoothies every day. For instance, I'm either at school, working, stuck on a train, or trying to catch up on sleep all in one day which leaves no time for whipping up a healthy and nutritional smoothie. My hectic schedule makes it is very hard for me to get my daily dosage of good nutrients. But then there are amazing people like Sophie Milrom who founded EatPops saving people like me time and money when trying to stay healthy on the inside. I have to say little discoveries can lead to bigger opportunities. You can read more about Sophie's journey and what inspired her to think big on The Wink.

Another discovery, this time for finding beauty on the outside involves Clinique's Chubby Lash Fattening Mascara. Now just about every makeup and beauty lover knows how important it is to have that go-to mascara. Having that mascara that the does the job and actually achieves the look you're trying to go for makes it a holy grail product.

For me, I like to have very dramatic eyelashes with added volume. When applying mascara I typically start out with a first coat then giving time for it to slightly dry and then adding a bazillion more coats until I have the full effect of volumized lashes. Using the Chubby Lash mascara is perfect for building up layers making it easy to achieve that bold look.

B E A U T Y: Fall Beauty Look with Walgreens

Lately, I've been really getting into makeup again and I thought that I should share a fall inspired beauty look featuring The Blushed Nude Palette by Maybelline. The shades in this palette are just pure perfection with the rose gold infused pigments and the shimmery nudes.
For a high impact blushed look, I wanted to incorporate rosy hues and plums. I mostly kept the focus on my eyes leaving the rest of my face very nude. I can do so many looks using this palette because it's really easy to use and it's great for everyday wear. I hope you can find some inspiration from the fall season to create glam beauty looks.
And, if you do create an eyeshadow look inspired by the fall season using this palette definitely share it with me via Instagram, I would love to see your looks!
This eyeshadow palette is available at your local Walgreens store or online at walgreens.com
