The Sweet Scent I'm Loving this Summer

From a young age, I always loved perfume and basically anything that smelled good. I grew up admiring my mother's favorite perfumes collection as her signature scents consisted of Dior J'Adore, Elizabeth Arden Sunflowers, or Dolce & Gabanna Light Blue. And yes I was definitely sneaking a spritz or shower in one her perfumes. My faves in her collection are J'Adore, a scent full of richness and Sunflowers, a strong fresh scent both having floral notes but very different at the same time.

Over the years I  have learned a lot about the different notes that make up a perfume, and the fact that I am sometimes attracted to scents with musk or jasmine notes. I definitely still gravitate towards the strong fresh and floral scents but lately, I have become fond of the warm and spicy scents for summer. Scents that have hints of vanilla, amber, and musk usually fall into the warm and spicy category which explains why I have been loving Commodity's Gold perfume.

Dressing Up Vintage Denim for Spring

We're technically still in the spring season so flowy long sleeve tops are still acceptable to wear. Opting for a silkier type blouse is a great way to add texture and more glamour to the casual top and jeans combo. I love the idea of keeping things simple yet still effective.

I, of course, had to add a little pizzaz with these dope velvet checkered ankled boots.

How to Wear Socks and Heels for Spring

If you follow me on Instagram then you'd know I spent a couple of weeks in LA enjoying the warm-ish weather and eating out way too much! One of the days that I was there it was nearly 80 degrees and that gave me the perfect opportunity to wear fewer clothes aka cami top and denim shorts. I'm currently missing LA because NYC just got hit with yet another snow storm!!! :(

Anywho moving on...

This look was already simple enough and definitely needed a little elevation so, of course, wearing blush tone heels made a statement. Now I couldn't stop with just the shoes I wanted more for this look so layering sheer sparkly socks (y'all know how much I love sparkly socks) added a nice little pizzaz.

The key to wearing the sock and heels combo is really about playing with texture, color, and shoe type. These blush heels were a perfect fit for sporting the combo because of its cut-outs and suede material. Now I have plenty of different socks that I could've possibly worn with these shoes but I opted for socks that were super sheer, sparkly and had studded details.

Also, please don't think that this shoe style is the only way to wear the sock and heels combo. You can most certainly go for a pair of classic pumps, open toe, strappy, platform heels and so much more. How would you rock the sock and heel combo this spring?

4 Cute Winter Outfits to Wear with a Beret

Berets have been making their way on top of heads and being a power player in style this winter. I love that berets can be such a significant piece that easily pulls a look together. Besides, I have always wanted to look all cute and proper in a beret while eating a french baguette. Too bad that vision has gone out the window because I no longer eat bread...glad I got that out of the way haha. Mixing Art & Fashion with Artistix

Although fashion has been noted as a form of artistic expression it can easily be mixed with other mediums of art. Artistix Fashion is a perfect example of the married art form with garments that are inspired by artist and founder Greg Polisseni's original paintings. The fashion line is all about the edgy and unique style which exactly defines my personal style so well. Here, I have styled 2 looks featuring all Artistix clothing from their FW17 Harvest Collection. Each look shows off my vibe of whether I'm in a going out or chill mode.

LOOK 1 | From the asymmetrical skirt to the camo jacket, both styles are taking over the fashion scene this season and Artistix has brought a new take on the two trends. The lace-up feature on the skirt gives structure and the camo print defines Artistix's Harvest Collection thanks to the original color scheme. And to keep things cozy I topped off this look with the cropped mustard sweater. 

LOOK 2 | According to a few I was bringing the Rihanna vibes with this look which is totally cool. But with Artistix's vision of the modern fireman's jacket, it was only fitting that I compliment it with the flight jumpsuit. Talk about a fearless look!
