We're technically still in the spring season so flowy long sleeve tops are still acceptable to wear. Opting for a silkier type blouse is a great way to add texture and more glamour to the casual top and jeans combo. I love the idea of keeping things simple yet still effective.
I, of course, had to add a little pizzaz with these dope velvet checkered ankled boots.
If you follow me on Instagram then you'd know I spent a couple of weeks in LA enjoying the warm-ish weather and eating out way too much! One of the days that I was there it was nearly 80 degrees and that gave me the perfect opportunity to wear fewer clothes aka cami top and denim shorts. I'm currently missing LA because NYC just got hit with yet another snow storm!!! :(
Anywho moving on...
This look was already simple enough and definitely needed a little elevation so, of course, wearing blush tone heels made a statement. Now I couldn't stop with just the shoes I wanted more for this look so layering sheer sparkly socks (y'all know how much I love sparkly socks) added a nice little pizzaz.
The key to wearing the sock and heels combo is really about playing with texture, color, and shoe type. These blush heels were a perfect fit for sporting the combo because of its cut-outs and suede material. Now I have plenty of different socks that I could've possibly worn with these shoes but I opted for socks that were super sheer, sparkly and had studded details.
Also, please don't think that this shoe style is the only way to wear the sock and heels combo. You can most certainly go for a pair of classic pumps, open toe, strappy, platform heels and so much more. How would you rock the sock and heel combo this spring?

Berets have been making their way on top of heads and being a power player in style this winter. I love that berets can be such a significant piece that easily pulls a look together. Besides, I have always wanted to look all cute and proper in a beret while eating a french baguette. Too bad that vision has gone out the window because I no longer eat bread...glad I got that out of the way haha. Even during the dullest moments of life, you should always keep shining and never, NEVER allow anyone or anything to steal your shine. Of course, that doesn't require wearing sequins or sparkly garments but as long as you keep the shine within you-you'll be like the Kira Kira app for life, in real life!

Ahhhh, the cold...as much as I hate winter I love putting together looks of layered goodness. This time I have gone into full monochrome mode and created three looks featuring pieces from Missguided. Each look, of course, has a different mood for whether you're on some chill vibes or feeling a little edgy.
Look 1: Chill 4 Chill | This coat is the coziest one I own yet and I am obsessed! I love how soft it is on the inside but how sophisticated it looks on the outside. The color blocking of the white & black definitely puts this coat on a new level of chic and it for sure attracts a lot of compliments...but I ain't mad tho lol! The chill vibes of this look really come from the pairing of my wool shorts and Converse topped off with a little shirt layering.
Look 2: Zipped Up | Ok first of all these jeans thoooo...the zipper detail is my fave! I have owned a lot of black jeans in my lifetime but these are by far the coolest and edgiest pair. I'm already dreaming of wearing them in the summer unzipped high for a little leg action. This look is my favorite because I'm wearing just about all of my beloved pieces at once and it just makes me feel comfortable to wear things that I like.
Look 3: Winter Statement | I'm not sure what possessed to bare my legs and chest in this cold but I did it and made it look cute, haha! From the flared sleeves to the feather trim skirt how else would I make such a statement this winter?! This look is definitely perfect for hitting up some late night turn ups but I'm the type to make this a daytime outfit just because I can. I'm also loving the play on textures in this look with the shearling coat, silky blouse, and feather trim skirt. Basically, this isn't your typical blouse and skirt combo this one has got some personality and a little 'tude.

If you have been following me for a while then you know my style is pretty edgy and I like to mix things up. A great example of my go-to style is mixing floral print with leather for a toughened up feel. The fall season is all about layers and leather so of course, I went for lots of leather in this look. From the leather jacket, combat boots to the leather harness belt there's no denying that this floral dress hasn't transformed from girly to edgy.

Sequins can be a little intimidating especially when it comes to day wear but there is a way around this minor style dilemma. I think everyone's "fear" about wearing sequins is that it could be way too overdone and you'll unintentionally end up looking like a disco ball. Styling sequins should be taken with precaution yet still being the focus of the look because I mean, after all, it is sequins we're talking about here.
For this look, I have actually paired a sequin dress with a more neutral piece, the camo skirt. The skirt acts as the piece that breaks up the look thanks to its very casual feel. Now, of course, pairing camo with sequins isn't the only way to make things less disco feeling. To keep sequins looking less tacky consider wearing it as a separate and pair it with denim, solid or printed neutrals, oversized pieces or other basics.
